Business Days Between Dates

Use this Business Days Between Dates calculator to find the exact number of working days between two dates. Weekends are excluded by default, and you can optionally exclude public holidays.

Great for contracts, payroll periods, SLA compliance, project timelines, and any policy that defines deadlines in “business days.” (Calculations run locally in your browser.)

If disabled, the range is treated as start inclusive and end exclusive.

Presets are optional. You can also add custom holiday dates below.

If a date is in this list, it is treated as not a business day (even if it’s a weekday).

When Should You Count Business Days Between Dates?

Business-day ranges are common in contracts and operations. This tool helps you validate SLAs, payroll periods, and deadlines.

How the Business Days Between Dates Calculator Works

Step 1 – Choose start and end dates

Enter the two dates you want to measure between. If the start date is after the end date, the tool automatically swaps them.

Step 2 – Decide if the end date is included

Use the Include end date toggle to match your policy: some definitions treat ranges as inclusive, others as end-exclusive.

Step 3 – Exclude weekends and (optionally) holidays

Weekends are excluded by default. If needed, choose a country preset and/or add custom holiday dates.

What Is a Business Day?

A business day typically means Monday–Friday, excluding weekends. Depending on context, public holidays can also be excluded. This page supports weekend-only counting and holiday-aware counting (optional).
